I spent a long time Googling for sci-fi RPGs that I could play online, by post or by chat. I just found d6d20.com a few days ago as a result.

I'm a closet geek, living a double life. Smiley I love sci-fi. I love steampunk and cyberpunk. I used to be able to indulge my geekiness more frequently in live-action events, but now I must turn to the internets for satisfaction.

Welcome to taking your first steps out of the closet, to a more free, fun filled RPG life.

Oh, the search for an internet game is very much about staying in the closet. It's comfy in my closet. I have a Sunggie and a Snoopy lamp and everything. Smiley

Killjoy - welcome! I hope we can find you a game to play here.
I'm reading through the games now. Work is light for me at the moment, so I plan on covering a lot of ground over the next few days.

Hello KillJoy.

What kind of games would you be interested in playing?

I love sci-fi. I love steampunk and cyberpunk.
All of the above!  Cheesy

Seriously though, I'm not that familiar with many game systems. I mostly hang out with Steamers, LARPers, and RPG hipsters (when I'm not in the closet). if its an RPG you can buy at Barnes and Noble, they aren't too interested.  Shocked Last year (when I had more time), I played in a weekly game with this sci-fi RPG group. We played a long campaign of Burning Empires, interspersed with one-shots of a space opera/western set in the Firefly universe, played using a slightly modified version of the Dogs in the Vineyard RPG. It was a lot of fun.

I have scanned all of the games here, and the one that interests me the most is the Terminator RPG. I'll need to read more of it though to figure out what's going on. Like I said, my work is light through the end of the week, so I'll do some more exploring around the site.

Welcome! So we're a part of your closet now? It feels kind of stuffy, and I'm glad I'm not using a mac. Why, you ask?....
I can open a window!
I am familiar enough with macs to know how dumb of a joke this is, but I couldn't resist.
Terminator has so far been excellent. I don't know if Wallace has open slots, but he might. He would recommend Emergence or Strings to you; I don't know what the latest on Emergence recruitment is but I know that I'm working just with the core group on Strings at present.
I'm curious now, what is your actual job? I'm a closet nerd, wait, no, I'm just a nerd. I'm an eternal engineering student.

I'll send PMs tonight to check on recruitment, but it's cool if they are all full.

The short version: I am an intern that serves as a personal assistant. It pays well, but I'm on call 24/7. I am also a student, but not eternally. Smiley I'll be done in two more years.
